It snowed!I love the white, quiet, peaceful, calming effectof snow. I like the way the house feels with the snow blowingall around outside, and we are nice and warm inside. Openingall the curtains wide and watching it gently falling to the ground.Ahhh…love it.Grandaughter Allison and Daughter Stephanie,Niece and Auntie!Allie has been spending a few days at our house, and we have loved it!

That first photo is just stunning!
Thanks for letting Allison stay.
I’m sure she doesn’t want to leave! =)
Beautiful photos. We have had no snow this year, or last year as a matter of fact. November and December 2010 saw us snowed in here in Wales and since then they have been warning us for the worst winter to come……but things have been great. We do have a log fire this evening, but really, it’s been quite mild.
love the little tree in the snow!
and that towel IS adorable-
homemade gifts are my favorite.
@Elizabethmarie_1 - We don’t want her to leave either!! Maybe we’ll just keep her
.
Love ya….
@Neeka1 -Thank-you for your comment. Do you normally have snow in Wales? Or was the snow in 2010 unusual?
Enjoy the “mild” while you have it, we were having “mild”, but now we have VERY cold!
@grace_to_be - One of my kids said…”wouldn’t it be funny to tell everyone that the tree is 10ft. tall,
but the snow is sooo deep that just the top is showing!”
@AbidingontheVine - Yeah – snow is kind of normal, but not heavy snow. Although in the last 3 years when we have had snow it has been very bad with airports closing etc. The 2010 snows were really bad because snow fell and then the temperatures dropped so much that it turned to ice and then snow fell on top of the ice and…well yeah, you can just imagine. The country never had enough grit to clean the roads and no-one could come down our road without getting stuck. So you can imagine how difficult it was to try and walk on the snow that was now covered in ice. Many things that were organised at the time had to be cancelled, it was just too dangerous. But, no snow at the moment – who knows if the weather will suddenly change. We have been known to have some snow in March!
In Oklahoma, we are still waiting for our first snow. It’s been a long stretch of “DRY” (not much rain, either) and our family is ready for something wet and, preferably, frozen! I’m intrigued by your stove and the size of the wood being hauled in. Do you need extra small pieces for the stove? Just caught up with your Christmas and winter pictures – all so lovely! Be blessed!
Love that top photo and that stove wow that is amazing I have never seen a cook stove like that before?
ryc: Yes the meetings were always hard for me as to get to one they are about 45 minutes away & here if you missed a meeting you had to pay for it ? So I just weigh myself. My daughter has decided to do it so she says she will come over & we can walk as well (fingers crossed on that lol).
Enjoy your snow our weather has been quite mild, 54 & rainy today.
@cherylyn_p - We usually put large logs in our stove, but we brought in the end cut pieces of some 2×4′s we had leftover in the garage, we used them as kindling
to get the fire hotter quicker. I love the stove, we put it in, in the 90′s and it has paid for itself over again many times (saving us in heating bills). It’s all we use to
heat our house, it usually stays in the 70′s on the first floor, and in the 60′s upstairs in the bedrooms. The oven is a natural convection oven, so anything baked
comes out amazing. Hope you get some snow soon
.
@AbidingontheVine - haha, yes! ya never know. that would be funny if it were – - a perfect caption would be, “looks can be deceiving!”
